Which Tubing Should I Use?
PEX (non-barrier or potable water PEX)
- Low cost
- High reliability
- Good flexibility
- Great for plumbing and potable water distribution.
- We do not recommend non-barrier PEX for heating systems.

O2 Barrier PEX (barrier PEX, heating PEX )
- PEX tubing with an extra coating on the outside of the tubing to inhibit corrosion of heating system components.
- Most commonly used tubing in heating systems, especially slabs

PERT
- Lower cost than PEX
- Higher flexibility than PEX
- Slightly softer and/or less durable.
- A good choice when flexibility and cost are your highest concern.

PEX-AL-PEX
- PEX tubing with an aluminum core
- Bends like soft copper
- Stays put (no coil memory)
- Highly durable
- No expansion with temperature.
- Great upgrade for heating systems and potable plumbing but a slightly higher cost.

Onix
- EPDM rubber hose
- Most flexible tubing for heating system installations (not for potable water)
- Extremely durable
- Extremely high characteristics of heat transfer when used under floor in staple up applications
- No expansion with temperature
